World Watermelon Capital - Design

Our “World Watermelon Capital” design was inspired by watermelon growers around the world. The inspiration in our own backyard happens to be the nice folks in the Cordele Georgia area. They do an amazing job with their watermelon crops and their hum-dinger festival!

Cordele holds the official title of ” Watermelon Capital of the World.” The Cordele/Crisp County Georgia watermelon festival is called “Watermelon Days Festival.” It is a month long celebration of, you guessed it, watermelon! For more info on this wonderful celebration, be sure to check out their Festival Calendar of Events.

I wonder how long it will take me, this year, to get Tracy Bird’s words out of my head. “Well ,if you’re ever down in Georgia ’round about July, If you ain’t in a hurry, then you oughta stop by. I can guarantee that you’re gonna have a ball.”

Get ready for summer and watermelon festivals with our “World Watermelon Capital” design. Don’t forget to grab a few items for friends & family and if you have a booth at the festival, order some items to sell.

Memorial Day Inspiration

Poppy Red ButtonsWhen John McCrae wrote “In Flanders Fields,” he couldn’t have had any idea how many people, the world over, would be affected by his words. Moina Michael was inspired by his work and replied to Mr. McCrae’s poem with a few simple lines of her own. Below you will find both of these works.

Our “Poppy Red” designs were inspired by both of these poems and are humbly offered to help you honor all fallen soldiers. Click on the graphic to the right to view more samples.

In Flanders Fields
John McCrae, 1915.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Response to “In Flanders Fields”
Moina Michael

We cherish too, the Poppy red
That grows on fields where valor led,
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies.
